Green (upper body) will not play Wednesday against the Rangers, Chuck Gormley of CSN Washington reports. Green was on the ice for the Capitals' morning skate and participated in rushes with usual partner Tim Gleason, but the blueliner determined he needed some additional time to recover from the injury. Fortunately, the oft-injured Green doesn't believe the upper-body injury is a major issue, and he's aiming to return to the lineup for either Friday's game against the Stars or Sunday versus the Bruins. Nate Schmidt will fill Green's spot in the lineup Wednesday.
