Gorges spent an extra half hour discussing the team's play with head coach Ted Nolan after practice. The Sabres' infirmary is quite crowded, but it wasn't excuses Gorges and Nolan shared with each other while the team is mired in a seven-game losing streak. As one of the team's veterans, Gorges was supposed to be a stabilizing presence for the team, but the team is once again headed to the lottery. Gorges has a minus-11 rating in his past seven games. He rarely puts up any points but even in leagues that count blocked shots his plus-minus rating is an eye sore.
