Gonchar has been ruled out for three-to-five weeks with an ankle injury, NHL.com's Mark Stepneski reports. The multi-week injury likely ensures that Gonchar will open the season on injured reserve, and surely was a motivating factor in the Stars getting a deal done with restricted free agent Brenden Dillon. Now 40 years old and a full four years removed from his last 50-point campaign, Gonchar shouldn't be on anyone's radar outside of very deep leagues.
