Daniel Cleary has signed a three-year/$8.25 million contract with the Philadelphia Flyers. Cleary's deal will be official at the end of September and it will come with a no-movement clause. This deal is a curious one for the Flyers given that their third and fourth lines already looked solid and they were already up against the cap. With Cleary signed, the Flyers are expected to shop one of the nine defensemen, not including Chris Pronger, they have signed to one-way contracts. Cleary doesn't have much offensive value to begin with and this move doesn't do him any favors from a fantasy perspective. He isn't likely to get much playing time on a scoring line or with the man advantage.
