Cory Emmerton didn't receive a qualifying offer from the Red Wings. He spent most of the 2013-14 season with AHL Grand Rapids and signed a one-year deal with the KHL's Sochi Leopards in May. Detroit also didn't retain the rights to forwards Trevor Parkes and Willie Coetzee as well as defensemen Gleason Fournier and Max Nicastro.
