Bouwmeester (upper body) will be sidelined for the Blues' Friday and Saturday matchups, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.

Bouwmeester was questionable against Vancouver, but will also be out of the lineup versus the Capitals. The veteran is an infrequent contributor on the scoresheet, as he is currently stuck in a 12-game goalless streak while tallying just four helpers over that span. The 32-year-old does make an impact defensively where he has logged 10 hits and 14 blocked shots over his last 10 contests. Bouwmeester will be replaced by Robert Bortuzzo on the St. Louis blue line.
