Hal Gill (lower body) did not skate on Thursday after missing Wednesday's game. Gill was replaced by Jack Hillen in the lineup Wednesday and the Red Wings were more than pleased that the six foot, seven inch defenseman was not in the lineup as he is difficult to play against. He could still be in the lineup tonight as coach Barry Trotz said: "If he feels better tomorrow and he's able to go he'll go." Stay tuned.

Hal Gill (lower body) will be a game-time decision for Wednesday's playoff opener. The hulking blueliner didn't participate in the morning skate and his absence could hurt the team's penalty kill. The Predators have killed infractions with an 89.5 percent success rate since Gill joined the team on Feb. 19. Jack Hillen or Ryan Ellis are penciled in to take his place if he can't play.

Hal Gill is suffering from a lower body injury. Gill didn't participate in team drills on Tuesday. "He went out early and he skated," Predators Coach Barry Trotz said. "We felt that with his injury, there was no sense in trying to aggravate it anymore." He should be considered questionable for Game 1 on Wednesday.

Hal Gill got his first point as a member of the Nashville Predators on Tuesday. Gill has a goal and nine points in 55 games this season. Nashville acquired him and a conditional 2013 fifth round pick from Montreal on Friday in exchange for Blake Geoffrion, Robert Slaney, and a 2012 second round draft pick.

If his first practice with the Predators is any indication, look for Hal Gill to be paired with Roman Josi. Apparently the two practiced together Sunday morning. Just in case you were wondering who gets the assignment to play alongside the 6'7" Gill.

The Nashville Predators have acquired Hal Gill and a conditional 2013 fifth round pick from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for Blake Geoffrion, Robert Slaney, and a 2012 second round draft pick. Gill is a defensive defenseman who should compliment the Predators' already talented corps of blueliners. That being said, this trade isn't likely to change the fact that Gill has no fantasy value in standard leagues. He has no power-play points in 53 games with the Canadiens and we doubt he'll get much playing time with the man advantage in Nashville.

Hal Gill is expected to return to Montreal's lineup on Wednesday night in Carolina. The hulking blueliner has missed the team's last five games due to an infection that required hospitalization at one point. "I feel good right now and it was nice to get out there this morning and feel like I was ready to play," said Gill. "When you come back from any injury or sickness, I think you want to try and keep things simple and keep them short, try to rely on your teammates and do things as straightforward as you can."

Hal Gill was hospitalized on Thursday because of an infected cut and not, as was initially believed, an illness. Gill will miss his fourth straight game on Saturday and should be considered day-to-day beyond that. We wish him the best in his recovery.

Hal Gill missed his second game in a row on Wednesday due to an illness. Consider the big defender day-to-day for now.
