Daymond Langkow assisted on two of the Coyotes' three goals Saturday night in his first game back after the sudden death of his mother. Our hearts go out to Langkow in dealing with such a tragic loss. He is the consummate pro as he was able to come back in such fine style and produce. We have been touting Langkow as a 50-point sleeper this season. We see no reason to change our forecast.

Daymond Langkow has rejoined the Phoenix Coyotes after taking a leave of absence due to the sudden death of his mother. Langkow missed his seventh straight game on Wednesday, but he should play in Friday's contest. We would like to extend our condolences to the Langkow family.

Daymond Langkow will miss his fifth consecutive game on Saturday due to the sudden death of his mother. We offer our sincere condolences to Daymond and his family on their sudden loss. He could return as early as Wednesday but is likely to be in a funk for a while, which is quite normal. The Coyotes have given him a leave of absence, likely as long as he needs it, in a classy move by the organization. She passed away on November 8 and the funeral will be Monday in Edmonton.

Daymond Langkow (personal) isn't expected to rejoin his Phoenix teammates during their current road trip. He was granted a leave-of-absence following a death in his family. Langkow might be able to return for next Wednesday's game against Anaheim.

Daymond Langkow missed Thursday's contest with the Montreal Canadiens due to a death in his family. The Coyotes gave him a leave of absence. He has three goals and eight points in 13 games thus far. He could return for the game in San Jose Saturday or he may stay with his family until the Coyotes play in Toronto on Tuesday. Stay tuned.

Daymond Langkow will carry a modest three-game point streak into Wednesday's meeting with Colorado. He has garnered one goal and two assists over that span to give him seven points in 10 games this season. Langkow appeared in just four games last year because of a broken bone in his neck, but he has rebounded nicely in Phoenix.

Daymond Langkow is meshing well with linemates Ray Whitney and Shane Doan. Langkow missed all but four games last season after injuring his neck in March, 2010. He was dealt to the Coyotes for Lee Stempniak in the off-season and is now centering the Coyotes top line. "I feel good," he said. "I'm not nervous or anything. I'm just excited about this year knowing the potential of this team, so hopefully we can come out, have a good start and get a win." Look for Langkow to approach the 50 point mark if he stays healthy all season.

Daymond Langkow has passed his physical examination with the Phoenix Coyotes. The team has cleared him to play and participate in all activities. Langkow skated in the final four games of the 2010-11 season with Calgary after returning from a broken bone in his neck. He was traded to the Coyotes for Lee Stempniak on Monday and could start the year as the team's top center.

The Calgary Flames have sent Daymond Langkow to Phoenix in exchange for Lee Stempniak. If Langkow passes a physical examination, he'll rejoin the Coyotes after spending three seasons with them from 2001-02 to 2003-04. Langkow had a streak of eight straight 50 or more point seasons end in 2008-09 when he got 21 goals and 49 points in 73 contests. Unfortunately, he only managed 37 points in 2009-10 and he missed all but four games in 2010-11 with a fractured vertebra. He'll be 35 in September, he's been on the decline for years, and be attempting to bounce back after missing almost an entire season of hockey. With all that in mind, we can't recommend drafting him in standard leagues.

The Calgary Flames have agreed to send Daymond Langkow to the Phoenix Coyotes, pending a physical. It's not yet known what the Flames would receive in return, but given Langkow's $4.5 million cap hit, we doubt they will get a significant player in return. Langkow missed the vast majority of the 2010-11 campaign due to a fractured vertebra, but he was able to participate in Calgary's final four games. Langkow had back-to-back 30 goal seasons in 2006-07 and 2007-08, but his stock has fallen dramatically since then. He's worth keeping an eye on, but we wouldn't be surprised if he ends up with a little over 30 points in 2011-12.
