Damien Brunner (knee) has received the green light from New Jersey's medical staff to return. Coach Pete DeBoer said there's "a good chance" that Brunner will play Tuesday night. His status won't be decided until after the morning skate, though. Brunner has been sidelined by a sprained MCL since Dec. 20.

While his teammates are in Denver, Damien Brunner (knee) skated in New Jersey on Wednesday. Devils GM Lou Lamoriello said Brunner is ahead of schedule. He hasn't played since Dec. 20, but should be regarded as day-to-day at this point.

Damien Brunner has been chosen to represent Switzerland at the Winter Olympics. Brunner and Minnesota's Nino Niederreiter were the only NHL forwards named to the roster on Monday. Damien Brunner will miss at least four weeks with a knee injury. The injury occurred last night when Brunner took a knee-on-knee hit from Mark Fistric. The good news is that he will not require surgery. Brunner was returning to form when this injury hit as he had four goals in four games before Friday. Reserve him for now if he is on your roster.

Damien Brunner left Friday's game with a knee injury. The Devils are calling it a lower body injury but Brunner took a knee-on-knee hit early in the first period from Mark Fistric and did not return. There is no word on the severity of the injury or whether or not Brunner will go with the team to Washington for Saturday's game. Brunner has been hot of late with four goals in four games before Friday. "You feel for him because he was really starting to play well and get his legs, get his confidence," coach Peter DeBoer said. "It's a tough break for him and for us." Consider him day-to-day.

Damien Brunner left Friday night's game versus Anaheim with an apparent knee injury and will not return. Brunner was just starting to find his scoring touch, notching four goals and an assist in his last four games. Brunner took a knee-on-knee hit and had to be helped off the ice.

Damien Brunner has four goals and six points in his last four games. Brunner seems to have turned his season around since being listed as a healthy scratch against his former team, the Detroit Red Wings. "Sometimes you have to hit the bottom, rock bottom, before you come back up," Devils coach Pete DeBoer said. "I don't think there's any doubt that being out against Detroit here was probably rock bottom for him. It was not something we wanted to do, but to his credit he hasn't felt sorry for himself. He picked himself up and he's playing the best hockey since the beginning of the year." Given how streaky Brunner has been, it's hard to read too much into his recent success from a long-term perspective. Still, if you just want to ride a hot streak, Brunner should have some juice left in his.

Damien Brunner scored a goal and added an assist for the Devils in Wednesday's 5-2 victory over Ottawa. Brunner has run hot and cold at different times this season and is currently in the midst of one of his warmer streaks, registering four markers in as many games. Jaromir Jagr, Eric Gelinas, Stephen Gionta and Reid Boucher all found the back of the net for New Jersey in the win.

Damien Brunner scored the winner for the Devils on Saturday. Brunner's seventh goal of the season was set up on a gorgeous pass from rookie defenseman Eric Gelinas putting Brunner in the clear for the breakaway goal. Brunner has three goals in his last three games after going the previous 17 without finding the back of the net. He has 11 points in 30 games and is a streaky scorer so he could be worth a pickup in deep leagues if you believe in him.

Damien Brunner had a weight lifted from him after finally ending his 17-game goal scoring slump on Tuesday. After snapping the drought at 1:08 of the second period, he added a second goal midway through the final frame. "It's definitely nice when you score after a stretch like that," Brunner said. "I definitely didn't want it to get past the 20-game mark." His offensive struggles have led to him spending some time in the press box this season. He has the potential to be a solid top-six forward though, so he's worth keeping an eye on.
