Colin Fraser is progressing in his recovery from a broken foot. He was cleared for contact and participated in the Kings' practice on Friday. Fraser may be in the mix for a fourth line spot, but he will likely begin the season in the AHL. He has no fantasy value.

Colin Fraser (foot) is making progress, but he still hasn't been cleared for contact. It remains to be seen if Fraser will be available for the Los Angeles Kings' season opener on October 7th. He'll compete for a spot on the team's fourth line when he's healthy.

Colin Fraser will not be able to participate fully as the Kings open training camp Saturday. He is still recovering from an ankle injury that required surgery. Los Angels acquired Fraser from the Oilers in June but have filed a grievance with the NHL wherein they claimed Edmonton dealt them damaged goods. When healthy, Fraser will be in the mix for a spot on the team's fourth line. He has no fantasy value.

The Los Angeles Kings have filed a formal grievance with the NHL over the health of Colin Fraser. Given that Fraser was required to undergo surgery this past week to repair an improperly healed ankle fracture, the Kings maintain that the Oilers misrepresented the status of the injury. While the Kings are not seeking to void the trade, it will be reviewed by Commissioner Gary Bettman and a final ruling communicated to both teams. Stay tuned.

The Los Angeles Kings have notified the NHL of their displeasure surrounding their recent dealings with the Oilers. The Kings have not sought relief from the league at this point, but could take legal action against Edmonton. Kings' GM Dean Lombardi voiced his concerns, saying "The bottom line for me, I would have rather invested my money with Bernie Madoff than invest in Edmonton's word." That's certainly a bit of an exaggeration, but Lombardi may have reason to be upset. For fantasy players, the news to take from this is that Colin Fraser likely will not be in any team's lineup for four months as he recovers from his injury.

Colin Fraser reportedly has an unhealed crack/cyst problem in his foot that will require surgery. He is expected to miss four months after the procedure. Needless to say this revelation did not impress the Kings, who acquired Fraser from Edmonton in the Ryan Smyth deal. Los Angeles did not pull the trigger on a previous trade with the Oilers because Gilbert Brule sustained two concussions late last season and now Fraser is damaged goods as well. The trade will apparently stand though.

The Los Angeles Kings are planning to give Colin Fraser a fair shot at making the roster in training camp. While there has been much speculation about the fact the Kings would like to have bought out Gilbert Brule's contract if he had been acquired in the Ryan Smyth deal, Kings GM Dean Lombardi confirmed this was not the case with Fraser. "We had this kid in Philly," Lombardi said of Fraser. "He's a hard-working, honest player. He has a chance."

Colin Fraser has been traded to the Los Angeles Kings. Fraser and a 7th round pick in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft will become the property of the Kings in exchange for veteran Ryan Smyth. Fraser is likely to serve as a depth player for the Kings if he manages to make the opening night roster. He has no fantasy value.
