Brandon Yip recorded his first goal and his first assist of the 2011-12 campaign on Tuesday. Yip was playing in his 13th NHL game of the season and his third with the Predators. He was claimed off waivers on Jan. 21st.

For now, he will be in and out of the lineup as a fourth liner.

Bradnon Yip, who was claimed off waivers by the Predators Thursday, might line up beside his old college linemate Colin Wilson. The two had great success together at Boston University in 2009 when they won a national championship. Keep an eye on the 26-year-old Yip. Although we have never thought of him as a particularly valuable fantasy player, sometimes being in the right place at the right time can pay dividends. This might be one of those circumstances.

"He had a little bit of size, a little bit of speed, a little bit of goal scoring touch, and when he came on waivers, from our standpoint, I was a little surprised we actually got him. I thought there would be a few more teams interested in him." Yip picked up 23 goals and 41 points in 113 games with the Avalanche, but was held scoreless in 10 contests this year prior to being plucked off waivers. He will not make his Predators debut on Thursday in Columbus.
