Arron Asham is listed as doubtful for Wednesday's game versus Boston because of a mild groin strain. If he can't play then Stu Bickel will likely move from defense to the fourth line to take his place and defenseman Steve Eminger will dress for the first time this season on the back end.

Arron Asham missed New York Rangers practice Tuesday with a mild groin strain. In a normal season, this wouldn't be a big deal, but in the lockout-shortened season, groin strains and the like are going to be treated with more care than usual. Asham should be OK to play Wednesday, but check back after tomorrow's morning skate to be sure.

Having finished his suspension from the playoffs, Arron Asham is set to join the New York Rangers lineup on Sunday night. He'll play against his former team, the Pittsburgh Penguins. Perhaps that will increase the odds of him dropping the gloves, then?

Arron Asham still has one game left to serve on his four-game ban, which stems from Game 3 of the 2012 playoffs. The former Pittsburgh forward cross-checked Flyers forward Brayden Schenn in the face. Asham will be eligible to return when the Rangers host the Penguins in their home opener on Sunday night.

Arron Asham, formerly of the Penguins, has signed a two-year, $2 milion contract with the Rangers. Asham is a much better hockey player than fantasy one. He should be a fine replacement for Brandon Prust who will no doubt be leaving the Big Apple for greener pastures. That said, Asham does not really have any appeal in hockey pools.

It is becoming very unlikely that Arron Asham will return to Pittsburgh next season. Asham is set to become an unrestricted free agent Sunday and the Penguins have made no real attempt to re-sign him. Wherever he ends up, look for Asham to continue his career as a third or fourth line checking winger with no fantasy value.

Potential unrestricted free agent Arron Asham is hoping to be re-signed by the Pittsburgh Penguins. "No word yet," said Asham referring to the negotiation front. "But I'm hoping that I hear something from the Penguins by the NHL Draft. That's when I should know if I'm back or if I'm looking for another place to play." He has played the last two seasons with the Penguins on one-year deals.

Arron Asham has been suspended for four games by the NHL as punishment for his actions in Game Three against the Flyers Sunday. Asham's cross-check to the face of the Flyers' Brayden Schenn was deemed severe enough to warrant the punishment. Barring a miracle from the Penguins, Asham's season is likely over.

The NHL has offered Arron Asham the opportunity to have an in-person hearing regarding his cross-checking of Philadelphia's Brayden Schenn on Sunday. Asham hit Schenn in the throat, but fortunately Schenn was able to stay in the game. The incident occurred in the first period and resulted in Asham getting a 10-minute match penalty. Asham might be handed a severe suspension and we wouldn't be surprised if he misses the remainder of Pittsburgh's playoff run.
