Anton Volchenkov fractured his ankle during a KHL game. Volchenkov will miss four-to-six weeks, which means he'll be unavailable for the start of the season if a new CBA deal is signed soon. His value to fantasy teams is limited, but the New Jersey Devils would miss his presence in their own zone. It's worth noting that players injured overseas can be suspended without pay if they're still injured when the lockout ends. The suspension would be lifted when they're ready to return to the lineup.

Anton Volchenkov will reportedly sign with Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod of the KHL, where he will play during the NHL lockout. He will join New Jersey forward Ilya Kovalchuk, who plays for SKA St. Petersburg, in the KHL. Volchenkov took some time to consider his options before deciding to head overseas, but he had been eying the KHL for a month or so.

Anton Volchenkov is currently skating in New Jersey, but according to his agent he is still considering playing in Europe during the lockout. He has been renting ice time with other locked out Devils' players at the Prudential Center practice rink. Volchenkov was linked to the KHL last month, but nothing was officially signed.

Anton Volchenkov has not signed anywhere just yet, but he is seriously considering playing in the KHL during the lockout. The Record's Tom Gulitti says that the defenseman still has some things to sort out before he makes his decision. The Devils' blueliner played with Krylja Sovetov in Russia in 2001-02 prior to making his NHL debut with the Senators.

New Jersey Devils defenseman Anton Volchenkov participated in team practice on Sunday after taking a questionable hit from New York Rangers tough guy Brandon Prust in Game 3. Volchenkov's (relative) health decreases the chances that Prust will receive a suspension for his elbow - or at least could reduce the amount of time the Rangers player might sit. Of course, that doesn't guarantee that Volchenkov will play in Game 4, but it indicates he should shake off another controversial hit. (Volchenkov was also the recipient of a big Zac Rinaldo check in the semifinals.)

Anton Volchenkov looked good in practice Saturday and is listed as probable for Monday's game against the Rangers. He took a bit hit from Zac Rinaldo in Game Five that seemed to knock the wind out of him but he sure looked solid in Saturday's practice and seems good to go for Game One of the Eastern Conference Finals Monday.

Anton Volchenkov felt "pretty good" after taking part in Saturday's practice. Volchenkov didn't participate in Thursday's skate after absorbing a big hit in Game 5 on Tuesday. "It was a good hit. It was a clean hit too," Volchenkov said. "I didn't really see him, but it's not really a dirty hit. He hit me right in the chest. I just lost my breath and had to take a little time. And after I went back I felt great." Volchenkov said he's ready for Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
