Shaw scored his team's lone goal in Wednesday's 4-1 loss to the Flyers.

Shaw started the game on the top line, but was switched to the third line to start the second period, and continued to bounce around for the rest of the game. His goal was his third in his last two games, but fantasy owners should be more interested in where he lands in the lineup right now.

Shaw chipped in two goals -- one on an empty-net -- in Monday's 3-1 win over the Hurricanes.

Shaw has been having trouble finding the back of the net, as the goals were just his second and third since Jan. 28. The 23-year-old is now up to the 20-point mark for the third time in the last four seasons, but that level of production isn't enough to merit consideration in most fantasy formats.

Shaw registered an assist, two shots on goal, and a team-high eight hits in Thursday's 3-0 win over the Panthers.

Shaw's assist at the 3:08 mark of the first period to new linemate Teuvo Teravainen snapped a 13-game scoring drought. That kind of slump hasn't been unique for Shaw, who also had a 10-game stretch without a point in December. The 23-year-old's propensity for large scoring lulls has resulted in a highly disappointing season to date, as he's generated only 16 points and a minus-9 rating over 59 games. Perhaps the arrival of the scoring-minded Teravainen can inject some life into Shaw's game, but fantasy owners who have held on to him are advised to keep him on the bench until he starts producing with more consistency.

Shaw broke out of his slump Tuesday, letting loose a career-high eight shots on goal and getting two of them past Arizona goalie Mike Smith.

Quite the stunning outing for Shaw, who had gone without a point in four straight and had totaled just three points over a 22-game span entering Tuesday's action. After his ice time had dipped over the last three games, it spiked to 18:11 in this one.

Shaw has compiled just one goal and two assists over his last 22 games.

The center has gone minus-10 during that span and might have hit his breaking point in the team's last game Sunday against the Stars, when he saw just 9:24 of ice time. He's probably not in danger of losing a lineup spot just yet with the injured Kris Versteeg (hand) and suspended Daniel Carcillo eating up two of the team's three scratches every night, but Shaw has clearly been a disappointment in his follow up to last season's 39-point effort.

Shaw won 12 of his 13 faceoffs (92.3 percent) in Tuesday's loss to the Jets.

Though Shaw didn't score any points in the lopsided affair and hasn't tallied a point in his last nine games, he's been one of the Hawks' most trusty options in the faceoff circle. He's won a career-best 51 percent of his draws so far this season, but his success in that capacity is probably not enough to make up for the lack of offensive punch he's provided. He has just 10 points and a minus-4 rating over 32 games.

Shaw netted his fifth goal of the season and added an assist in Friday's win over the Ducks.

Shaw has now scored in two straight games and is up to nine points in 20 games on the season. While he isn't a top offensive contributor, Shaw is a solid secondary scorer who can contribute 20 goals in a third-line role.

Shaw (upper body) potted a power-play goal in Wednesday's win over the Avalanche.

Shaw returned to action after missing the previous three games and performed quite effectively, firing off five shots over 15:32 of action. He's still probably behind the pace to reach the numbers most were expecting from him this season, but his production could begin to take off now that he's healthy again.

Shaw (upper body) practiced again Tuesday and looks ready to play Wednesday against the Avalanche, Tracey Myers of reports.

Shaw skated as the third-line center at Tuesday's session and didn't appear to be limited in any drills, which should clear him to rejoin the lineup following a three-game absence. The 23-year-old has gotten off to a slow start to the 2014-15 campaign, notching three goals, three assists and a minus-4 rating over 18 games.

Shaw (upper body) appears poised to return to the lineup Wednesday against the Avalanche, Mark Lazerus of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

The gritty forward should draw back into the lineup after the team demoted his replacement, Phillip Danault, to AHL Rockford on Monday. Shaw collected three goals and three assists in 18 games before getting injured Nov. 16 against the Stars.
