Meszaros assisted on one of six Sabres goals in Saturday's win over the Maple Leafs. Meszaros had been a healthy scratch for the Sabres' previous three games, but Saturday's effort was a positive step in working his way out of coach Ted Nolan's doghouse. The 29-year-old has thus far failed to add the scoring punch to the blue line the Sabres were hoping for, as he's provided just two points in 13 games.

Meszaros will be a healthy scratch Thursday against the Bruins, Bill Hoppe of the Olean Times Herald reports. It's the second time this season that Meszaros will be a healthy scratch. The 29-year-old has been a disaster on both ends of the ice through nine games, contributing one point and a minus-10 rating.

Meszaros will serve as a healthy scratch for Tuesday's game against the Hurricanes. Signed to a one-year, $4.125 million contract in the offseason, Meszaros (one point, minus-6 rating) hasn't done much to stabilize a Sabres defense that has surrendered 131 shots in its first three games. Though Meszaros' tepid start to season is discouraging, coach Ted Nolan was careful to note that the onus for his team's struggles doesn't entirely fall on the blueliner. "Meszaros is not going to be the first casualty. We just need him playing better but we can't sit out 10 guys. We only have a limited group so nobody's safe from that position." Expect Meszaros to return to the lineup for the Sabres' weekend homestand, but his plus/minus rating will only steadily fall from here.

Andrej Meszaros has inked a one-year contract, worth just over $4 million, with the Buffalo Sabres. He appeared in 38 games (five goals, 12 assists) for the Philadelphia Flyers last season before being dealt to the Boston Bruins. Meszaros posted five points in 14 contests with the Bruins. He should get a larger role with the Sabres than he had during the 2013-14 campaign.

According to a report from Hokej.sk, Andrej Meszaros won't be joining the Slovakian team for the World Hockey Championship. The tournament is already four games deep into the preliminary round and Meszaros reportedly doesn't want to risk getting injured with unrestricted free agency on the horizon. He skated in 52 games with Boston and Philadelphia this past season. Meszaros also appeared in four playoff games with the Bruins.

Andrej Meszaros will make his third postseason appearance with the Bruins Saturday afternoon. He will replace Matt Bartkowski, who took a couple of costly penalties in Game 1 which led to Montreal goals, on the blueline. Meszaros hasn't played since Game 2 against Detroit in Round 1.

Andrej Meszaros was a healthy scratch Saturday afternoon. He took a seat to allow rookie Torey Krug, who scored in Saturday's victory, to return from the press box. Meszaros has a goal and a plus-3 rating in three games with the Bruins since he was acquired from Philadelphia.

Andrej Meszaros made his Boston debut Sunday against Florida. He scored a power-play goal and registered six shots, while seeing 20:36 of ice time in a 5-2 victory for the Bruins. "It was good to go out there and play. Overall, I felt pretty good and the two points is huge," Meszaros said. He was a healthy scratch for two straight games after he was acquired from Philadelphia, but more performances like this will earn him plenty of action.

Andrej Meszaros participated in his first full Bruins' practice Friday. That said, there is a good chance he will be a healthy scratch again Saturday against the Lightning as Boston coach Claude Julien seemed very pleased with the six rearguards he dressed for Thursday's 3-0 win over Washington. Corey Potter, who was also recently added to the Bruins' roster, may also sit in the press box. "It's pretty apparent to me now that there is competition back there," Julien said. "We've got to give those guys an opportunity to feel their way into this team. There is an opportunity for us to get to know them and them to get to know us. That's where we are right now". We would keep Mezaros on reserve until he plays in a game.
