Markov had two assists and 25:24 of ice time in Thursday night's 3-2 loss to the Kings. He has 11 points (one goal, 10 assists) in the past 10 games.
EDGE Analysis
Markov's averaged 26:38 of ice time in Monteal's back-to-back set Wednesday and Thursday. That's a good sign. There have been few stretches this season when head coach Michel Therrien reduced Markov's playing time, but the Russian-native has averaged nearly 26 minutes per game over the past 10. His aging mobility may cost him on the defensive end, but Markov's offense hasn't aged. He knows where to pass the puck and remains on Montreal's first power-play unit.

Markov stayed productive in a 4-3 win against Washington on Wednesday, racking up two assists.
EDGE Analysis
The 37-year-old rearguard has really come alive of late, as he now has points in four straight and seven in his last six games. With 33 points this season, Markov trails P.K. Subban's 46 by a fair margin for the team lead among defensemen, but he's inside the top-25 in the league and that makes him valuable in nearly all leagues. He isn't exactly letting Father Time get the better of him, either, as Markov is averaging 23 minutes of ice time per game this season.

Markov scored a power-play goal in Tuesday night's 4-2 loss to the Flyers.
EDGE Analysis
Markov, whose last goal came Nov. 11, has not been very productive offensively with just six assists since the beginning of December. Along with the diminished offense, Markov has had some egregious giveaways recently and has seen his playing time drop. Biology is catching up to the 37-year-old, who played nearly 22 minutes Tuesday. We'll see what he has in tank for Wednesday night's home game against Buffalo.

Markov had an assist, two blocked shots and a hit in 22:07 TOI in Monday night's 5-2 loss to Columbus.
EDGE Analysis
The 22:07 on Monday was Markov's highest in four games. We had seen his minutes cut back below 20 following a particularly poor stretch of hockey in which the 37-year-old's TOI was up around 25 per game.

Markov played 19:31 in Tuesday night's 4-1 loss to Boston, the second straight game he's had under 20 minutes TOI. He's averaging just under 23 minutes per game for the season.
EDGE Analysis
It's been a tough week for the 37-year-old rearguard, whose brutal first-period giveaway led to Boston's first goal. This, after a Markov turnover in overtime led to the Blues' game winner last Saturday.

Markov had an assist and two shots in a season-high 26:15 of ice time in Saturday night's 3-1 loss to the Capitals.
EDGE Analysis
Markov has just two points in the last 13 games, but more worrisome was a slump on defense that had him skating on the third pair for a couple of games. He's back on the top pair with P.K. Subban again, getting 50:11 TOI in the last two games.

Markov practiced with the third defense pair Wednesday, the Montreal Gazette reports.
EDGE Analysis
Markov was dropped to the third pair mid-game in Tuesday night's loss to San Jose and looks like he'll be there Thursday when the Habs host the Kings. The demotion means less playing time, though we do expect him to get ice time on the power play.

Markov had four giveaways and was minus-3 while playing a season-low 17:07 in Tuesday night's 3-1 loss to San Jose.
EDGE Analysis
Markov had a bad night and was eventually replaced on the top defense pairing by Nathan Beaulieu.

Markov was held without a point and finished with a team-worst minus-3 rating in Friday's 5-3 win against the Islanders.
EDGE Analysis
Markov won't have many bad games this year and the Habs are fortunate that an off-night from their top pair still resulted in a win. Nathan Beaulieu and Jeff Petry had two points each in the win and Markov has just one point in his past five games. He's on pace for about 40-50 points on the season, though, which still puts him among the NHL's top tier.

Markov scored a power play goal in Wednesday night's 4-3 shootout loss to Pittsburgh.
EDGE Analysis
Markov has points (one goal, three assists) in four of the last five games, all of which came on the man advantage. Eight of his 15 points have come when the Habs have been a man up.
