Forward Joe Pavelski scored his 40th and 41st goals of the season to lead the San Jose Sharks to a 3-2 victory over the Coyotes in Phoenix Saturday night. Both of Pavelski's goals were netted in the first period. Pavelski has had a first-rate season and has notched at least a point in seven of his team's final eight regular-season games. Logan Couture also scored for the Sharks, his 23rd of the season. The Sharks entered the game locked into a first-round playoff series against the Kings, starting in the coming week, so the game against the Coyotes Saturday was merely a tuneup.
