Coach Randy Carlyle wants to see more from Nazem Kadri or else the young center could slide a little further down the depth chart. "We have to get Kadri, Mason [Raymond] and [Joffrey] Lupul going. The level of their game has got a lot of levels to improve on," said Carlyle. "In my mind, they're playing a fraction of where they can be. They should be on a line that provides the second tier of offense and should challenge the first line." The trio hasn't been together long, but Carlyle added that Peter Holland could supplant Kadri on the combination if their production doesn't increase. Kadri feels the line had their chances against Carolina and he's not worried about the situation even though he has generated just one goal and one assist in his past eight games.
