John Carlson believes he has what it takes to represent the United States at the Winter Olympics. "I have confidence in myself. I always have," said Carlson. "I've got to answer those questions about where I fit for myself, and I do think I'm good enough to make the team, but it's not up to me. I have a lot of work to do first. I need to have a good season, and also I've got to have a good season for the Cap." Team USA will open their orientation camp at Kettler Capitals Iceplex in Arlington today. Carlson is a good puck moving and he can skate, which are valuable skills on the bigger ice used for international play, so he'll be watched closely when the NHL season begins.
