After sitting out the Canes' first three games as a healthy scratch, Bellemore finally joined the lineup for Thursday's 2-1 shootout loss to the Rangers. He did not record a point, but registered a couple of penalty minutes, plus two hits and two blocked shots in 18:16 of ice time. With blue line regulars Andrej Sekera (upper-body) and John-Michael Liles (general soreness) both on the shelf with injuries, the Canes finally turned to Bellemore to help plug the holes in the lineup. This will most certainly not last, of course, as once the team's walking wounded return to action, Bellemore will find himself back on the bench. Despite the occasional spot start, the young defenseman's fantasy value will continue to hover dangerously close to zero, even in the deepest of formats. Use him only when desperate, while continuing to look for other options.
