Holtby stopped 23 of 24 shots in Thursday's opener against the Habs in regulation and overtime, but fell in the shootout. Holtby shut out the Canadiens for the first 50 minutes before Tomas Plekanec's third goal of the young campaign sent the game to overtime. Though he only came away with one point for the Caps, Holtby played exceptionally well and seems poised for a breakout under new coach Barry Trotz and goalie coach Mitch Korn.
