Iginla is nursing a slight ankle injury and won't play in Thursday's preseason game against the Kings, Adrian Dater of the Denver Post reports. The Avs are likely just holding Iginla out as a precaution, so as not to worsen the ankle injury any further in advance of the regular season. The newly-signed forward is expected to serve as the Avs' second-line right wing, where he'll play next to Matt Duchene and Ryan O'Reilly.
