Tallinder signed a professional tryout offer with the Maple Leafs on Thursday, TSN's Bob McKenzie reports. Considering the immense struggles the Maple Leafs had on the back end last season, Tallinder could have decent odds of claiming an opening night roster spot as a seventh defenseman. He appeared in 64 games with the Sabres last season, scoring two goals and adding eight assists while averaging 19 minutes of ice time per contest.
