Lars Eller and the Montreal Canadiens had been talking about a four-year deal for "quite some time." Eller and Montreal agreed to a four-year, $14 million contract on Thursday and avoided arbitration in the process. "Many times, your salary and your expectations go hand-in-hand. I've seen that here in Montreal," Eller said. "But, I put a lot of pressure on myself, too. I think it also speaks to how much the organization believes in me. It's nice to see that they've shown that faith in me. Now, it's up to me to go out and play the best hockey that I can." Eller will certainly have higher expectations on him now. He had 26 points in 77 games last season and will need to produce more to live up to his salary.
