Carolina Hurricanes GM Ron Francis hopes to hire a head coach before the NHL Entry Draft. One of Francis' first acts as general manager was to fire former bench boss Kirk Muller. Francis didn't offer much insight into who is in the running for the coaching gig or what he wants from his next bench boss, beyond the obvious like an ability to hold players accountable and get his message across. However, Francis did suggest that he'd "ideally" like a coach that was able to identify lines he could stick with as oppose to someone who favors making frequent tweaks. "Sometimes that's not the way it works out, and it may be keeping two together and adding a third based on injuries or matchups," Francis said. "But you need that continuity on the ice."
