Drew Stafford has one year remaining on his contract, but there's speculation that he'll probably stay in Buffalo. He was much better in the final part of the season, where he recorded 12 goals and 21 points in his last 32 games. Stafford also regained the alternate captaincy he lost earlier in the year and should serve as a leader in 2014-15. Buffalo needs forwards who can score and although Stafford is streaky, he is capable of producing. He is also playing for a new contract, which could motivate him further. Stafford's name has surfaced in trade rumors before, but it wouldn't be surprising if he stuck around.
