The Florida Panthers recalled defenseman Ryan Whitney from the AHL's San Antonio Rampage for Sunday's game against the Anaheim Ducks. He's been largely ineffective in the NHL so far, going without a point in six NHL games this year (also a -7 rating). This might be his last chance to prove he can belong with the league, although it may be too late. Ed Jovanovski could be out of the lineup.
