Ruutu has been a lineup regular since returning from injured reserve in late January, but hasn't provided much production while serving primarily as a bottom-six forward. A stark decline in ice time and a depreciation of skill since his prime years with the Hurricanes in the late aughts seems to have been the primary downfall for Ruutu, who has only 12 points in 61 games. The end could be near for the 32-year-old.
