He narrowly missed scoring after skidding a backhander off the far post and was also denied on a nifty deflection attempt by New Jersey netminder, Corey Schneider. Crosby was in jeopardy of falling into a four-game point slump for the first time since 2009. The assist on the man advantage represented just his sixth power-play point in 24 games.
