Downie registered 15 PIM on Wednesday against the Capitals. Ten of those minutes came courtesy of an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty -- "Abuse of Officials" call. Downie, who entered Wednesday as the only NHL player with at least 100 penalty minutes, now leads the league with 167 PIM. Surprisingly, Downie's 22 points are just six fewer than Scott Hartnell and three less than Milan Lucic.
