Elias (illness) confirmed after the Devils' morning skate that he will be activated from IR and return to the lineup Friday versus the Canadiens, Tom Gulitti of The Record reports. Elias has been skating for the last few days after he was cleared to rejoin the team when his mumps symptoms subsided. After taking part fully in the team's morning skate, he's expected to reclaim a spot on the second line, where he'll join Travis Zajac and Martin Havlat. Elias is regarded as one of the Devils' better offensive threats, but with just four goals, 13 points and a minus-16 rating over 29 games, he's not lived up to his end of the bargain.
