Bartkowski will not be suspended or fined for his hit to the head on the Sabres' Brian Gionta on Sunday night, Bill Hoppe of the Olean Times Herald reports. The NHL Department of Player Safety deemed Bartkowski's hit on Gionta to be an example of incidental contact to the head, since the Bruins blueliner didn't specifically target the head on his attempted check. Gionta ended up skating off the ice after the hit, but never returned to the game, suggesting he might have sustained a concussion. The Sabres' Marcus Foligno would later injure his hand in a fight with Bartkowski, who ended up picking up a season-high 20 PIM in the 4-3 victory.
