Strachan (lower body) was placed on injured reserve Sunday, Mike Harrington of Buffalo News reports. Strachan returned from a lower body injury for two games before apparently aggravating the issue. However, his placement on the IR is retroactive to Dec. 16, meaning he could be available for the Sabres' game Tuesday against the Red Wings.
