The Montreal Canadiens contract negotiations with Brian Gionta have gotten serious over the last couple of days. Montreal is hoping to re-sign Gionta before he becomes an unrestricted free agent on July 1. The Canadiens captain had 18 goals and 40 points in 81 games in 2013-14.
