Juszczyk's reworked deal will free up about $1.75 million in cap space for the 49ers, who are looking to retool in the offseason after losing in the Super Bowl. The versatile fullback signed a five-year, $27 million contract with San Francisco back in March of 2021.

After clearing 200 receiving yards in each of the previous six campaigns, Juszczyk is well behind that pace thus far in 2023, having recorded eight receptions for 65 yards and two scores through 14 games. The 32-year-old is unlikely to see his playing time take a substantial hit while his role in the passing attack declines, as he's still valued for his skills as a pass protector and as a lead blocker in front of Christian McCaffrey.

Juszczyk hit pay dirt for the second time this season when he broke loose across the middle and took a well-placed pass from Brock Purdy to the house. The 22-yard reception also represented a new season high for the versatile fullback. Juice has now scored 21 total touchdowns over his impressive career, but the lack of a fullback position in fantasy lineups eliminates any potential for value.

Juszczyk went without a target or carry in the 49ers' first two games, but he's since see his touches tick up a bit over the last four contests. After recording four catches in the 49ers' 42-10 drubbing of the Cowboys in Week 5, the fullback took a step back in terms involvement Sunday but still tied for his longest gain of the season. Even with halfback Christian McCaffrey (oblique/ribs) potentially at risk of missing Monday's game at Minnesota, Juszczyk isn't expected to be a major beneficiary. Juszczyk will continue to bring most of his value to the San Francisco offense as a blocker rather than as a runner or receiver.

The fullback finished the regular season with 26 rushing yards and a touchdown to go with 200 receiving yards and another score across 16 games. His contributions as a pass catcher and as a pivotal blocker in the run game earned Juszczyk his seventh consecutive Pro Bowl nod. Juszczyk is under contract with San Francisco through 2025, and though he's viewed as a critical piece in head coach Kyle Shanahan's offensive scheme, the 31-year-old offers minimal value to fantasy managers.

The fullback took on a season-high 68 percent share in the victory and drew multiple targets for the third game in a row. With the 49ers set to play without jack-of-all-trades wideout Deebo Samuel for at least the next two games, Juszczyk could indirectly absorb some of Samuel's vacated snaps and touches. Tight end George Kittle and wideouts Brandon Aiyuk and Jauan Jennings are still more likely than Juszczyk to be consistent producers in the passing game in Samuel's absence.

Juszczyk recorded two receptions for two yards while playing 30 of the 49ers' 70 snaps on offense in Sunday's 13-0 win over the Saints.

Though he wasn't able to do much with his pair of catches, Juszczyk was at least able to end a two-game drought without a target. The 31-year-old continues to enjoy fairly steady usage relative to most fullbacks around the league, but he doesn't get enough touches on a weekly basis to attract much interest even in deeper fantasy formats.
