Guy was released by Indianapolis.
EDGE Analysis
His release could be a sign that T.J. Green or Clayton Geathers are able to return from injury. However, it's still an odd move because the Colts injury-depleted secondary is in need of depth.

Guy was cut by the Jaguars on Monday, the Florida Times-Union reports. Guy entered training camp as a starting safety and started the first three games of the season. However, after a poor showing in which he missed four tackles, Guy was replaced by Josh Evans during Week 3's loss to the Colts. He played just one snap in Sunday's loss to the Chargers and surrendered a 43-yard touchdown to Eddie Royal.

Jaguars S Winston Guy has worked exclusively with the first-team defense and is the leader to open the season as the starting free safety. Guy was expected to compete with Josh Evans for the starting role, but Evans has missed all of OTAs and minicamp recovering from foot surgery. The injury has allowed Guy to move ahead, but either player could still win the competition with a strong training camp.

Jaguars claimed S Winston Guy off waivers from the Seahawks. Coach Gus Bradley continues to claim players from his former team. A 2012 sixth-round pick, Guy appeared in two games last season before earning a four-game ban for violating the league's PED policy. He'll try to carve out a role on special teams, though he could see time on defense down the line.
