Mays will work out for the Seahawks on Wednesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mays hasn't suited up in an NFL game since the 2015 season with the Raiders. The 31-year-old safety has connections to the Seahawks as he played for head coach Pete Carroll at the University of Southern California before being second round of the 2010 NFL Draft. The Seahawks have their starting safeties -- Bradley McDougald and Tedric Thompson -- so Mays would serve in a reserve role with special teams duties if he was offered a contract.

Mays is facing an addition to his already four-game suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy, Nick Shook of NFL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mays was released by the Bengals on Saturday and it now appears that additional suspension was the reason for his release. He played in 14 games for the Raiders last season, recording 26 tackles and five passes defensed. Despite cutting the seventh year safety, Cincinnati hasn't ruled out bringing him back after his suspension is complete, so long as he's ready to play.

Mays was released by the Raiders on Saturday, ESPN's Field Yates reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mays was a non-factor in the Oakland secondary with Nate Allen and Charles Woodson playing well in their respective safety positions. He might be able to catch on with another team looking for depth at safety.

Mays agreed to a contract with the Raiders on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
May will provide some depth at a position group that saw both starters -- Nate Allen and Charles Woodson -- suffer an injury in Week 1. He will likely fill a reserve role initially, but will have a chance to see some playing time with just two other safeties on the Raiders' roster.

Mays relayed late Tuesday that he will sign with the Raiders, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mays, a sixth-year veteran, asked for his release from the Lions just days earlier after seeing limited action in the preseason. He should have a more legitimate shot at making the 53-man roster in Oakland, where he has existing familiarity with defensive coordinator Ken Norton, Jr., who previously coached Mays during his collegiate career at USC.

Mays has signed with the Lions, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports. Mays, a former second-round pick who has started 10 games in five seasons, was released by the Vikings last week. He's one of the NFL's better athletes when it comes to measurables, but he'll likely just compete for a depth role on the Lions. Glover Quin and James Ihedigbo are expected to start at safety, with Isa Abdul-Quddus the likely top backup.

Mays was released by the Vikings on Tuesday, ESPN's Adam Caplan reports. There was some talk about Mays competing for a starting job next to Harrison Smith, but the former second-round draft pick won't have the opportunity. Although he is one of the league's more impressive athletes when it comes to measurables, Mays has started just 10 games through the first five seasons of his career. Robert Blanton and Andrew Sendejo are the favorites in the battle to start at safety alongside Smith.

Mays will compete with Robert Blanton, Andrew Sendejo, Antone Exum and Anthony Harris for a starting safety role next to Harrison Smith, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. Blanton started 13 games last year but lost the job in December to Sendejo. Mays' ability to play in the slot could give him the most snaps at the position even if it's given a committee approach.
