Redman has retired from the NFL due to a spinal cord injury, according to the National Football Post. The report relays that after undergoing two MRIs and a CAT scan, Redman learned that his spinal cord issue would preclude him from playing in the NFL. Redman, who was released by the Steelers last October, noted that "various teams have called, but as you can see I was unable to go."

Steelers released RB Isaac Redman. It's a surprise only in that Redman is a familiar name. Redman has been a healthy scratch since Week 4, and that wasn't going to change with rookie Le'Veon Bell putting a stranglehold on starting duties. Going back to the start of last season, Redman has averaged just 3.52 yards over his past 120 carries. The Steelers will move forward with Felix Jones and Jon Dwyer behind Bell.

Steelers declared RB Isaac Redman inactive for Sunday's Week 6 game against the Jets. With Le'Veon Bell (foot) 100 percent, Redman is a healthy scratch as the No. 4 running back. There are no surprises on the rest of the Steelers inactive list: QB Landry Jones, WR Markus Wheaton (finger surgery), OT Mike Adams, C/G Cody Wallace, NT Loni Fangupo and LB Chris Carter.

Isaac Redman said he sustained a concussion in the Week 2 loss to the Bengals, but reentered the game. The NFL is going to want to have a word with the Steelers when they catch wind of this. Redman says he sustained the concussion on the opening kickoff of the game. He went back to the locker room and the team announced he was "being evaluated for a concussion." Then he came back onto the field for the second quarter and touched the ball four times. How did he fool the medical staff? "I said I was all right," Redman answered.

Isaac Redman is not expected to dress if Le'Veon Bell (foot) is active in Week 4. Bell is fully expected to make his NFL debut against the Vikings. Redman has fallen behind Felix Jones and Jonathan Dwyer on the depth chart.

Isaac Redman did not receive a carry in Week 3 against the Bears. Redman didn't make his first appearance until late in the third quarter. He's behind Felix Jones and Jonathan Dwyer for touches and remains well off the fantasy radar.

Isaac Redman rushed three times for just four yards and caught two passes for seven yards in Monday night's Week 2 loss to Cincinnati. Redman was scheduled to start, but he ended up getting hurt on the opening kickoff. He was taken to the locker room and checked out for a possible concussion. Redman passed the tests and returned to the game in the second quarter. Fantasy owners that took the plunge and started him will be crying in their Wheaties in the morning. Avoid playing Redman or any other Steelers back next week against Chicago.

Isaac Redman was injured on the opening kickoff in Monday night's Week 2 game against the Bengals and has been taken to the locker room. Redman was slated to start the game. He walked off woozily to the sideline and is being evaluated for a concussion. Felix Jones got the start in the backfield.

Coach Mike Tomlin said Isaac Redman will start Monday night's game against the Bengals. Redman fumbled twice and picked up eight yards on nine carries before getting benched in Week 1. "Obviously he played a bad game," Tomlin said Tuesday. "He'll be given an opportunity to redeem himself." With LaRod Stephens-Howling (knee) out for the year and Le'Veon Bell (foot) not close, the Steelers don't have a choice. Redman will be in a committee with Jonathan Dwyer and Felix Jones may get a few change-of-pace reps. It's a fantasy situation to avoid, especially considering a matchup with Cincy's fearsome front four. Matt Forte rushed 19 times for just 50 yards (2.6 YPC) against the Bengals in Week 1.
