Eddie Royal WR SD 2 Days

Royal caught all six of the passes that were thrown his way for 50 yards on Sunday against the Rams.

Royal's six receptions were tied with Keenan Allen for most on the team, and this was the first time he caught more than three passes since Week 4 versus the Jaguars. Philip Rivers didn't really take many deep shots in this game, so Royal was more busy than usual on underneath routes. We shall see if this trends continues in the coming weeks or if this was just a one-game anomaly.

Royal did not record a catch and only received one target in Sunday's loss at Miami.

The Chargers were completely destroyed in this game, but Royal's production continues to diminish. At this point, he is firmly buried behind Keenan Allen, Malcom Floyd and Antonio Gates in the pass-catching pecking order, and that does not figure to change anytime soon.

Royal had three catches on three targets for 29 yards in Thursday night's loss at Denver.

The pecking order in San Diego is fairly clear and consistent with Keenan Allen and Malcom Floyd serving as the wide receivers who always receive the most targets and Antonio Gates getting his fair share of looks from the tight end position. The Bolts also like to throw to their running backs a fair amount, so there typically isn't too much left for Royal after all is said and done. Since a spectacular Week 4 performance, Royal has averaged just two catches on three targets over the past four games.

Royal (elbow) had just one catch on five targets for 20 yards in Sunday's loss to Kansas City.

Royal left last Sunday's game at Oakland with a rib injury, but it was never considered serious. He nearly connected with Philip Rivers on a long pass play in the final minute of the game, but he could not come down with the ball. He'll get a stiff test in Week 8 at Denver, although Rivers might be forced to air it out more than usual against a potent Broncos' offense.

Royal (elbow) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Chiefs.

While his average of 54.2 receiving yards per game isn't especially notable, Royal has maintained fantasy utility by scoring five TDs over his last four games.

Royal should be out there if you need him Sunday, and while his average of 54.2 receiving yards per game isn't eye-popping, he has scored five TDs over his last four contests.

Royal (elbow/rib) is practicing fully this week, Michael Gehlken of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

As a result, look for Royal to draw a probable designation Friday, which would put him on track to see his usual workload this coming Sunday against the Chiefs.

Royal (rib/elbow) practiced Wednesday, the San Diego Union Tribune reports.

The Chargers listed the wideout as a full practice participant Wednesday, so Royal's playing status for Sunday's game against the Chiefs looks secure at this stage.

Royal (rib) was spotted at practice Wednesday, Michael Gehlken of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

We'll have to see how the Chargers officially list his participation, but Royal's presence on the field Wednesday supports the notion that the rib issue the wideout sustained in Week 6 is not a serious one.

The rib injury which caused Royal to miss the end of last Sunday's game at Oakland is not considered significant and should not cause him to miss much time, the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

No word yet on whether or not Royal will play this Sunday against the Chiefs, but it doesn't seem like the team is too worried. We will keep an eye on the reports throughout the week and will be sure to check on his status prior to kickoff on Sunday.
