Browns wide receiver Josh Cribbs revealed to the media this week that Lions running back Jerome Harrison (brain tumor, reserve/non-football illness list) is suffering from seizures.
"I still go over to (Harrison)'s house every now and then and talk to him. He's doing pretty bad. He's in and out of the hospital with seizures," Cribbs stated. Eagles doctors discovered Harrison's tumor last season when they attempted to acquire him via trade from Detroit. The 29-year-old is nowhere near returning to the football field, and we just hope for a return to full health at this point.

Lions placed RB Jerome Harrison on the reserve/non-football illness list.
Last year's rejected trade to the Eagles may have saved Harrison's life, as Philly's doctors discovered a brain tumor on his physical. The Lions had to declare that Harrison would not participate in the 2012 regular season or postseason to place him on the NFI list as a non-roster player.

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports doctors believe they were able to remove all of Lions RB Jerome Harrison's brain tumor during his Friday operation.
The 28-year-old running back's long-term prognosis appears quite good. Out for the season after being placed on the reserve/non-football illness list, Harrison will be a free agent at year's end. He had carried the ball just 14 times for 41 yards before his illness was discovered.

Lions placed RB Jerome Harrison (brain tumor) on the Reserve/Non-Football Illness List.
The Lions medical staff did not detect Harrison's tumor before camp three months ago. It's quite possible that this week's overturned trade saved his life when the Eagles medical staff discovered the tumor. Harrison has begun treatment and his long-term outlook "both for life and his football career" appears to be good.

Lions RB Jerome Harrison has been diagnosed with a brain tumor, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
As Schefter points out, Tuesday's trade might end up saving Harrison's life. If he isn't traded, he doesn't get a physical and the tumor isn't found. Harrison is not expected to play again this season, but the good news is his long-term prognosis appears positive. An eventual return to the football field has not been ruled out. Harrison had 14 carries for 41 yards in four games for the Lions this season.

Eagles acquired RB Jerome Harrison and an undisclosed 2013 draft pick from the Lions in exchange for Ronnie Brown.
The draft will probably end up being a conditional late-rounder, but the Eagles did well in dealing a back who had fallen behind Dion Lewis in the pecking order. Harrison played well in a backup capacity for Philly last season. He may have to beat out Lewis to regain that role, so there's not even "handcuff" value here just yet.

Lions declared RB Jerome Harrison, LB Justin Durant, TE Tony Scheffler, DB Vincent Fuller, QB Mike Stanton, OT Jason Fox, and DL Andre Fluellen inactive for Week 6 against the 49ers.
Harrison isn't known to be injured, so it looks like he's slipped behind Maurice Morris and Keiland Williams on the depth chart. Durant and Scheffler are still battling concussion symptoms, so Bobby Carpenter and Will Heller will fill in.

Jerome Harrison carried the ball six times for just eight yards in the Lions' preseason opener on Friday.
Harrison entered the game in the second quarter after starter Jahvid Best took the ball four times for 12 yards. Mike Bell got the third crack at carries, notching just five yards on his five attempts. The Detroit Free Press labeled both backup runners "unimpressive," and called the Lions' running game a "downer." It's a bad start for Harrison, but he remains likely to begin the season as Best's primary backup and handcuff in fantasy leagues.
