DT Marcus Stroud will sign a one-day contract with the Jaguars so he can retire as a member of the organization.
Stroud, who will turn 34 next week, spent seven productive seasons in Jacksonville after they drafted him with the No. 13 overall pick in the 2001 draft. In his prime, Stroud was a premier run-stuffer that also racked up 22 sacks as a Jaguar. Injuries and an inability to fit in a 3-4 scheme crippled his late-season career in Buffalo.

Former Bills and Patriots DT Marcus Stroud is considering a return to the NFL this season.
After undergoing offseason surgery last year, Stroud came down with a staff infection in his shoulder, leading to his release from the Patriots. Now 33 after a year away from football, Stroud is seeking a job as a rotational lineman, likely in a 4-3 defense. Stroud estimates he's 60 percent healthy now and expects to be 100 percent by June.

Patriots released DL Marcus Stroud.
The mistake signing cost the Pats a $150,000 signing bonus. Stroud reported to training camp with a bum shoulder, likely the same one he had surgery on during the early winter. He never fit New England's defensive scheme well anyway.
