Cruz failed to catch his only target Sunday night against the Packers.
EDGE Analysis
uThe Giants offense as a whole simply did not move the ball, and there wasn't much to go around, but it's concerning Eli Manning hardly ever looked Cruz's way. He's still the team's No. 3 WR, but isn't usable until the offense picks up.

Cruz caught five passes (on nine targets) for 50 yards in Monday night's loss to the Vikings.
EDGE Analysis
Cruz's nine targets tied for the Giants' team-lead Monday, when his five receptions were the most he's registered so far this season. Still, given New York's inability to throw the ball downfield, Cruz was limited to just 50 yards. That was more than both Odell Beckham and Sterling Shepard, but that reality evidences just how little room the Giants found through the air against a tough Vikings defense.

Cruz caught all three of his targets for 70 yards Sunday against the Redskins.
EDGE Analysis
Cruz continues to produce, but for some reason the Giants targeted him only three times against a banged-up Redskins secondary. He'll have a tougher matchup this week against the Vikings.

Cruz caught four of eight targets for 91 yards. Cruz had a costly fumble that stalled a drive early, but made up for it with a 40-yard catch that sealed the game.
EDGE Analysis
Cruz is a good fit for coach Ben McAdoo's short passing offense, and he's been able to get up over the first two games with Odell Beckham drawing the bulk of the defense's coverage on most plays.

Cruz caught all four of his targets for 34 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 20-19 win at Dallas.
EDGE Analysis
Cruz was relatively quiet for most of the game, but came up huge late, snaring a three-yard touchdown to give the Giants the lead for good. While Cruz's final stat line is nothing special, it's worth noting that this was his first regular season game in nearly two years. Meanwhile, rookie Sterling Shepard also caught a touchdown, finishing with three receptions on four targets for 43 yards. With Odell Beckham likely to see most of the targets, Cruz and Shepard could continue to put up similar numbers as they did Sunday.

Cruz does not expect to be limited Week 1 against the Cowboys, the Giants' official website reports.
EDGE Analysis
Cruz logged 29 snaps in the third week of the preseason, suggesting he's ready to handle a full workload. The Giants list three starters at wide receiver on their depth chart, with Odell Beckham obviously at the top, followed by Sterling Shepard as the WR2 and Cruz as WR3. With no true fullback on the roster, Big Blue figures to deploy a three-wide base offense.

Cruz (groin) is expected to play one or two drives in Thursday's preseason finale against the Patriots, ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Cruz logged 29 snaps Saturday against the Jets, making one catch for four yards in his first game action since October 2014. He also got open on a deep route, but the pass was incomplete because of an Eli Manning under-throw. Sterling Shepard, who is expected to serve as the No. 2 wide receiver, will also get a few snaps in Thursday's preseason finale. Health permitting, Cruz figures to serve as the No. 3 wideout, given New York's lack of depth at the position. Returning from an extended layoff, the extent of his offensive involvement remains to be seen, even if there's little question he'll get snaps.

Cruz (groin) played 29 snaps and had one catch on two targets against the Jets Saturday. He was open deep on one play, but Eli Manning underthrew him.
EDGE Analysis
Cruz emerged unscathed from the contest and now has a chance to stick as the team's No. 2 or No. 3 option. That said, it's still unclear if he can handle daily practices and taking hits on a regular basis. But Saturday's showing was encouraging, and Cruz is still in the mix for the No. 2 or No. 3 receiver job.

Cruz (groin) will play in Saturday's preseason game against the Jets, Newsday's Art Stapleton reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hobbled by a groin injury through the first two weeks of the preseason, Cruz will finally return to game action for the first time since October of 2014. Despite the extended layoff, he hopes to lock down the No. 3 wideout job in a Giants receiving corps that lacks talent behind starters Odell Beckham and Sterling Shepard.

Head coach Ben McAdoo expects Cruz (groin) to play in Saturday's preseason game against the Jets. "I'm ready," Cruz added. "It feels like a long time since I've been out there. ... Now it comes to life this Saturday."
EDGE Analysis
A groin injury has impacted Cruz's ability to practice and kept him sidelined during the Giants' first two preseason contests. With back-to-back full practices Tuesday and Wednesday, though, the team's training staff is likely confident that the oft-injured wideout can handle the rigors of game action for the first time since October of 2014.
