Mathieu is being evaluated for a concussion Sunday against the Bills, Adam Teicher of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mathieu was hit in the head by his own teammate on Buffalo's first drive of the divisional round matchup. The safety was escorted to the locker room for testing, and his return can be considered questionable at this time.

Mathieu compiled 78 tackles (60 solo), a sack and three interceptions during the 2021 regular season.
EDGE Analysis
Mathieu has been a model of consistency since joining the Chiefs. He's played in no fewer than 15 games in each campaign and has racked up 60-plus tackles and at least three interceptions in all three seasons. Mathieu is finishing up the last of his three-year deal with the Chiefs and may command a hefty salary on the open market, which could result in the veteran moving on from Kansas City.

Mathieu (quadriceps) was a full participant at Wednesday's practice.
EDGE Analysis
Mathieu left Sunday's blowout win over the Steelers in the second half due to a quad contusion, but coach Andy Reid said Mathieu "feels great" after going through a full practice Wednesday. Barring a setback, the star safety will likely be available when the Chiefs face the Bengals in Week 17.

Coach Andy Reid said Wednesday that Mathieu (quadriceps) "feels great" after leaving Sunday's win over the Steelers in the second half, Herbie Teope of The Kansas City Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Chiefs were blowing the Steelers out when Mathieu was ruled out for the rest of the game, so that may have caused Kansas City to be overly cautious with the star defensive back. Reid also said that the athletic trainers were able to work on the injury right away, which may have allowed Mathieu to recover more quickly than usual. With that said, the Chiefs have yet to release their practice report, which will give a better indication of what Mathieu's status will look like for Week 17.

Mathieu (quadriceps) will not return Sunday against the Steelers, James Palmer of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mathieu exited in the second half with the injury. The severity of the injury is unknown and whether Mathieu's inability to return has more to do with the score and time left in the game or the extent of the injury itself. Daniel Sorensen will likely see extra work for the remainder of the game. After the game, coach Andy Reid clarified that Mathieu's injury is a quad contusion, per Nate Taylor of The Athletic, so Mathieu is unlikely to miss additional game action as a result of the injury.

Mathieu produced five tackles (five solo), one interception and one fumble recovery in Sunday's 48-9 win over the Raiders.
EDGE Analysis
Mathieu had a relatively lackluster tackling performance in the early blowout win for the Chiefs as he played less than 100 percent of the team's defensive snaps (44) for just the second time this season. Nevertheless, Mathieu still managed to account for two turnovers for the first time since Week 2. The star safety has 63 tackles (51 solo), three interceptions and two fumble recoveries in 12 games this season.

Mathieu compiled a season-high nine tackles (seven solo) in Sunday's win over the Broncos.
EDGE Analysis
Mathieu's 2021 season remains on track to finish near the previous two he turned in for the Chiefs. Through 11 games, Mathieu has 58 tackles (46 solo), a sack and a pair of interceptions, giving him just enough fantasy value to warrant IDP consideration in some formats. Mathieu hasn't tallied an interception since Week 2, however, so he shouldn't be counted on to consistently get involved in that aspect.

Mathieu (knee) is active for Sunday's game against the Cowboys, Adam Teicher of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The star safety was a late addition to the injury report, which naturally raised concerns about his availability for Sunday's interconference showdown. However, Mathieu will fill his usual role against a short-handed Cowboys passing game that will be down Amari Cooper (reserve/COVID-19).

Mathieu is questionable for Sunday's contest against the Cowboys due to a knee injury.
EDGE Analysis
Mathieu was a late addition to the injury report, which isn't a good sign for his availability against Dallas. Backup strong safety Armani Watts (illness) is also questionable, so the Chiefs may need to rely on Daniel Sorensen and Juan Thornhill as their top two safeties against Dak Prescott and the Cowboys' high-powered offense.

Mathieu (illness) bears no injury designation ahead of Monday night's game against the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
Mathieu missed Friday's practice with the ailment. He was back in full capacity Saturday, however, and looks to be a full go for Monday.
