Broncos placed DT Ty Warren (triceps surgery) on injured reserve, ending his season. Considered a longshot to play this year after undergoing surgery in August, the Broncos decided to end Warren's season after he hit a snag in his recovery. This will be the second consecutive season Warren has missed with injury, and it's quite possible the 30-year-old former first-round pick has played his last NFL down.

Ty Warren underwent triceps surgery Tuesday night and is expected to need 3-4 months of rehab. The Broncos aren't going to put Warren on injured reserve just yet in the hopes that he can help them late in the season. At this point, that's an extreme longshot. Kevin Vickerson and Brodrick Bunkley are the Broncos' starting defensive tackles for the long run.

Ty Warren will undergo surgery Tuesday to repair his partially torn right triceps. So much for the Broncos' hope that Warren could avoid surgery and play in 4-6 weeks. Now that he's going under the knife, Warren is expected to miss 3-6 months. The Broncos have little choice but to place him on injured reserve, ending his season. Denver paid Warren $4 million in guaranteed money this season after he was released by the Patriots.

Broncos DT Ty Warren (triceps tear) could return in 4-6 weeks it's determined surgery isn't necessary. Because Warren does not have a full tear, it's possible he can put off surgery. Doctors are waiting for the swelling to go down before determining how to proceed. The Broncos are set to pay Warren $4 million this year and desperately need his run-stuffing ability in their defensive line.

An MRI revealed that DT Ty Warren has a tear in his triceps. It's a brutal blow to a defense that was already thin up the gut. Warren was the Broncos' biggest acquisition in free agency, signing a two-year deal after getting cut by the Patriots. After suffering the tear Monday, the Broncos now must consider whether to place Warren on injured reserve. Brodrick Bunkley, who fizzled out with the Eagles, is now the favorite to start next to Kevin Vickerson at defensive tackle. Marcus Thomas (pectoral) is questionable for Week 1.

Broncos DT Ty Warren underwent an MRI late Monday on a triceps injury the team fears is "significant." Beat writer Lindsay Jones ominously posted on Twitter that the muscle is "torn," although we suspect she didn't mean to report it just yet. She certainly has inside information, though. Warren suffered the injury in Monday's practice. A torn tricep would require surgery and almost certainly end his season.

Broncos agreed to terms with DL Ty Warren on a two-year, $10 million contract. The contract suggests Warren will be installed as a starter, likely next to Broderick Bunkley on the inside in Denver's 4-3 scheme. Both players come with medical red flags two years removed from standout seasons defending the run. We still project the revamped defense to be one of the softest for opposing running backs.

Free agent DE Ty Warren has scheduled a visit with the Chiefs. Warren spent the weekend meeting with the Broncos and Texans. In Kansas City, the 30-year-old has ties to GM Scott Pioli and could push Tyson Jackson for the starting job across from Glenn Dorsey. The Chiefs lost incumbent Shaun Smith when he signed a three-year, $7.25 million deal to play in Tennessee.

Free agent DT Ty Warren is flying to Houston for a visit with the Texans. The visit will probably occur Monday. Warren was in Denver today, but it's not a good sign for the Broncos' chances of landing him that he's leaving now. Warren wants to play for a contender anyhow, and Houston is a much better bet.

Free agent DE Ty Warren will visit with the Broncos on Saturday. One of the better defensive ends in football in 2009, Warren missed all of 2010 with a hip injury and was cut loose by the Patriots on Friday. A 3-4 end in New England, Warren would play defensive tackle for the Broncos' 4-3.
