Tony Gonzalez expects to be leaned on heavily in Week 3 against Miami, and receive one-on-one coverage after studying Dolphins tape. Gonzalez has been one of the few slow-starting tight ends early this season, but the Dolphins get creamed by that position for reasons he points out here: "They doubled up (Larry) Fitzgerald a lot (in Week 4 last season), and you would probably think they'd do the same thing against Julio (Jones), which is going to create one-on-one matchups with other guys," Gonzalez said. "They blitz a lot, too, which creates one-on-one matchups." The Dolphins have the same defensive coordinator, Kevin Coyle, who is a Mike Zimmer disciple.

Tony Gonzalez caught just four passes for 33 yards in Sunday's Week 2 win over the Rams. Gonzalez saw eight targets, which was good for second-most on the team. Through two games, he has seven grabs for 69 yards and a touchdown. Gonzalez remains a weekly TE1 play. The Falcons travel to Miami next week. The Dolphins have been burned by Jordan Cameron and Coby Fleener for touchdowns in the first two weeks.

Tony Gonzalez says he was "embarrassed" by his pass protection in Week 1. Gonzalez allowed a sack even though he played just six snaps as a pass blocker (per Pro Football Focus). According to Gonzalez, it was only the second sack he's allowed in his career. "It's one of the things you can look at early in the season and I can make sure that it doesn't happen again." Gonzalez caught three passes for 36 yards and a touchdown against the Saints, and remains locked in as a TE1.

Tony Gonzalez caught three passes for 36 yards and a touchdown in Atlanta's Week 1 loss to the Saints. If Gonzalez was affected by missing the majority of camp, we didn't notice it. With time running out, Gonzalez couldn't corral a potential second score on 4th-and-goal, as Saints S Roman Harper made an excellent play on a jump ball for a pick. Gonzo is an every-week TE1.

Following his preseason debut Saturday, Tony Gonzalez said he felt "fine." We'd expect nothing less. Gonzalez is 37 years old and missed the first three weeks of training camp, but he kept himself in supreme physical condition as he always does. "I'm improving my wind," he said. "I wasn't winded, but I can get better. I can explode (better) off the line of scrimmage. I like where I'm at, at this point after missing all of that time." Gonzalez is right there with Jason Witten and Vernon Davis at the fantasy tight end spot.

Making his preseason debut, Tony Gonzalez had two catches for 21 yards in Saturday's game against the Titans. After spending most of camp with his family, Gonzalez just returned to the Falcons on Sunday. He got his work in on Saturday, hauling in both the targets he saw while covered. Gonzalez hasn't been able to separate in years, but he's gone over 80 catches, 800 yards and six touchdowns in three of the last four seasons.

Tony Gonzalez will step right in with the starters in Saturday's preseason game. Falcons coach Mike Smith said Gonzalez is in "great shape" despite just arriving to training camp last Sunday. We wouldn't expect anything less. Gonzalez has missed a grand total of two games in his 16-year career.

Tony Gonzalez has rejoined the Falcons, and resumed practicing. The Falcons' website boasts Gonzalez is "prepared to give it his all." That's after three weeks of staying away from camp. Seemingly ageless, Gonzalez is Rotoworld's No. 3 tight end.

Tony Gonzalez is expected to return to practice Sunday. Gonzalez left the team after the first two days of camp as part of a prearranged deal with the Falcons. He agreed to come back for his 17th NFL season, but wanted to spend the first two weeks of August with his family. Gonzalez is expected to play in the Falcons' third preseason game. "I think (as far as) getting him back to speed, he's already played for 107 years in the league," OC Dirk Koetter said. "I think he'll be in pretty good shape on that. I don't think there is a concern."

Tony Gonzalez is expected to play in the Falcons' final two preseason games. Gonzalez is getting a variation of the Brett Favre treatment. He showed up for the first day of training camp, but has since been away from the team "attending to family commitments." It's just a case of a 37-year-old guy in his 17th NFL season not needing or wanting to go through the early rigors of camp. Gonzalez, who always keeps himself in supreme physical condition and hasn't missed a game since 2006, will be tuned up well before Week 1.
