Addressing reporters at the Combine, 49ers GM Trent Baalke was noncommittal on the future of free agent Randy Moss. "Randy's a pro, and I can't say enough good things about Randy," Baalke said. "And I think if you ask anyone within our organization, they would say the same thing. So, we're certainly happy he was there. Is he going to return this year? I don't know that yet." Moss is not expected back in San Francisco.

CSN Bay Area's Bill Romanowski accused Randy Moss of "alligator arms" on Ed Reed's Super Bowl interception. The controversial Romanowski will spout off on anything and everything, but Moss appeared oddly disinterested throughout his second Super Bowl appearance, and it was most apparent on Reed's pick. Romanowski's "alligator arm" allegation is actually inaccurate, as Moss failed to even look up at Colin Kaepernick's overthrow. It wasn't a good look for a player who's long faced questions about his effort, and sat out the 2011 season after failing to draw interest in free agency. Moss wants to play in 2013, but teams won't be lining up for the future Hall-of-Famer's services.

Randy Moss caught two passes for 41 yards in San Francisco's Super Bowl 47 loss to Baltimore. Although Colin Kaepernick's throw was clearly too high, Moss gave no effort whatsoever a second-quarter pass that was intercepted by Ed Reed. Moss was catch-less until the 8:30 mark in the third quarter, catching a short pass for a first down and later ripping off 32 yards on a pinpoint throw by Kap. During Super Bowl week, Moss expressed his desire to be a featured receiver again. Having lost his burst going on age 36, Moss will have a very hard time in 2013 free agency.

ESPN Boston wonders if the Patriots could be interested in a reunion with impending free agent Randy Moss. Moss, 36 next month, is no more than a No. 3 or 4 receiver at this stage of his career, but the Patriots are in need of some depth at the position. Wes Welker, Julian Edelman, Deion Branch, and Donte' Stallworth are all free agents this offseason. Moss would certainly be an upgrade on the latter two, and he could be an occasional deep threat. Reportedly, Moss wants to play one more season, but that could always change if the 49ers win the Super Bowl.

Profootballtalk's Mike Florio reported Sunday night that impending free agent Randy Moss plans to play "at least" one more season in the NFL. Moss was noncommittal about his future late in the season, but it sounds like he's already made up his mind. A No. 4-caliber receiver at this stage of his career, Moss turns 36 in March. The 49ers might bring him back on a minimum base salary, but they should be looking to upgrade opposite Michael Crabtree.

Randy Moss caught three passes for 46 yards in the 49ers' NFC Championship Game win over the Falcons. Moss' most notable play came on a square-in route on the first drive of the third quarter, securing a 17-yard reception that got San Francisco's offense down to the Atlanta five before Frank Gore ran it in for a touchdown. Moss has been a role player in San Francisco's offense all season, as OC Greg Roman sparingly designs plays where the 36-year-old is his quarterback's first read.

Jim Harbaugh said Friday he wants Randy Moss on the 49ers again next season. Moss, who spent 2011 out of football, hauled in just 28 receptions for 434 yards and three touchdowns this season after signing a one-year, $2.5 million contract with San Francisco in March. He's pretty much washed up from a fantasy perspective, but he's a decent depth option for the Niners and reportedly a good mentor to the team's young wideouts.

Randy Moss caught two passes for 25 yards in Saturday's Divisional Round playoff win over Green Bay. Moss accounted for all of his production in the first quarter, taking his usual backseat to Michael Crabtree. Moss doesn't have second-gear explosion in his routes like he once did, and is essentially "just a guy" at this stage of his career. He shouldn't be difficult for the opposing corners to handle when San Francisco faces the winner of Seattle-Atlanta next week.
