X-rays on Lions DT Nick Fairley's left foot have come back negative. Fairley was having a whale of a game in Sunday's loss to the Saints before being forced to the locker room late in the first half with an aggravation of the left foot injury that cost him most of training camp and seven games. After getting the good X-ray news, he got taped up and appeared ready to re-enter, but ended up not playing another snap. Coach Jim Schwartz should update Fairley's status at his Monday press conference.

The Detroit Free Press expects Nick Fairley to start while Ndamukong Suh is suspended. According to coach Jim Schwartz, Fairley is finally at his physical peak after sustaining a stress fracture in his foot back in August. The No. 13 overall pick is expected to rotate with both Sammie Hill and Andre Fluellen in an effort to replace Suh.

Lions DT Nick Fairley was inactive Sunday after aggravating his left foot injury in Week 7. It's troublesome that Fairley still isn't over the stress fracture he suffered in early August. The No. 13 overall pick has appeared in just three games all season as a seldom-used rotational tackle.

Lions DT Nick Fairley will again be on a snap count in Week 6. "We're going to get him in an equal amount of snaps (to his Week 5 debut) probably," DC Gunther Cunningham said Friday. "What we're trying to do is pace him and build so halfway through the season, he's ready to go, but he's done a good job in practice day to day." Slated to be a situational pass rusher behind starting DTs Corey Williams and Ndamukong Suh, it could be Week 10 or 11 before Fairley is up to full speed.

Nick Fairly (foot) made his NFL debut on Monday Night Football in Week 5, playing a handful of snaps on passing downs without registering a sack or tackle. "I think I did OK," Fairley said. "There's always room for improvement." While he didn't show up in the box score, he did find his way into the Bears' backfield a few times. At full-health he will backup Corey Williams and Ndamukong Suh as a situational pass rusher.

Lions DT Nick Fairley (foot) is listed as questionable for Week 5 after fully participating in practice Saturday. According to the Detroit Free Press, "all signs point" to the first-round pick making his NFL debut on Monday. Fairley will be used as a rotational pass rusher behind starting DTs Corey Williams and Ndamukong Suh if he's active, and is expected to be on a snap count.

Lions DT Nick Fairley (foot) "hopes" to make his NFL debut on Monday against the Bears. Fairley took part in team drills at Lions practice for the first time all season on Friday. Although ESPN Chicago recently reported Fairley will be active on Monday, HC Jim Schwartz has stopped short of making any such declaration. If Fairley does play, his snaps will be extremely limited with so little practice time under his belt.

Coach Jim Schwartz confirmed that DT Nick Fairley (foot) will be a backup upon his return. Fairley is getting close to making his NFL debut as he took part in individual drills during Wednesday's practice. He also worked out prior to last week's win over the Cowboys before being declared inactive. Fairley will come off the bench behind starters Corey Williams and Ndamukong Suh once healthy.
