Mychal Rivera is expected to be the Raiders starting tight end in 2014. Rivera officially started just three games as a sixth-round rookie last year, but appeared in all 16 games and played on 622-of-1070 snaps (58.1 percent). He surprisingly came on strong in the second half of the year, posting a 22/233/3 line across the final eight outings. Still, we wouldn't be high on Rivera as an undersized (6'3/245) tight end that doesn't bring much speed to the table (4.81 forty at the 2013 Combine). He should face competition for the starting gig as the Raiders try to infuse talent across the board this offseason.

Mychal Rivera caught three passes for 30 yards with a touchdown in Sunday's Week 15 loss to the Chiefs. Rivera flashed his playmaking ability by running up the seam and making an athletic catch for a 14-yard score in the third quarter. He now has touchdowns in back-to-back games and three in the last five weeks. However, Rivera hasn't topped 30 yards in the last month and would be a weak TE2 play at San Diego in Week 16.

Mychal Rivera had five catches for 21 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's Week 14 loss to the Jets. Rivera caught a one-yard touchdown on fourth-and-goal with under three minutes remaining in the game. He was targeted eight times by Matt McGloin, primarily as a check down. Rivera will be nothing more than a low-end TE2 for Week 15 against the Chiefs.

Mychal Rivera caught two balls for 30 yards in the Raiders' Thanksgiving Day loss to the Raiders. The rookie tight end is essentially just a safety-valve option for Matt McGloin. Rivera has some long-term promise, but is a low-end TE2 in re-draft.

Raiders TE Mychal Rivera (concussion) is active for Week 13 against the Cowboys. Rivera is just four days removed from getting concussed on a vicious helmet-to-helmet hit, but is somehow ready to go. He's a decent TE2 streaming option against the Cowboys' sieve-like defense. Inactive for the Raiders are WR Denarius Moore, WR Brice Butler, SS Tyvon Branch, OG Lamar Mady, OT Menelik Watson, DL Brian Sanford and DE Jason Hunter.

Mychal Rivera (concussion) is listed as questionable for Thursday's game against the Cowboys. Rivera was concussed last Sunday but made it through the league's protocol at an alarmingly fast rate. He's a low-end TE2 for fantasy purposes.

Mychal Rivera (concussion) participated in Raiders practice for the second straight day Tuesday. It's unclear how or why Rivera has been cleared to practice less than 48 hours after his scary concussion in Sunday's loss to the Titans, but he's apparently on track to start against the Cowboys. It would be the first time we could ever remember a player who got concussed on a Sunday playing on Thursday. Rivera will be a low-end TE2 if he's indeed active.

Mychal Rivera (concussion) has already been medically cleared. Rivera says he needed less than 24 hours to go through the entire NFL protocols on concussions. It's the quickest we've ever heard of. The sixth-round rookie is a good bet for 3-6 targets against the Cowboys on Thanksgiving.
