Griffin started at safety opposite Harrison Smith in Thursday's preseason win over Seattle. The competition for the starting safety job opposite Smith will likely be decided late in the preseason, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Andrew Sendejo started opposite Smith in the first preseaon game, so it looks like an even competition at this point with Antone Exum, Anthony Harris and Jayron Kearse also in the mix. Griffin had two tackles and a sack in Thursday's game.

The Vikings have signed Griffin, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Per the report, the addition of Griffin could well send Andrew Sendejo to a backup role. The 31-year-old Griffin is coming off back-to-back IDP-relevant campaigns with the Titans, including 2015, when he recorded 101 tackles in 15 games.

Griffin has been released by the Titans, John Glennon of The Tennessean reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 19th overall pick in the 2007 NFL Draft, Griffin played 14 or more games in each of his nine years in Tennessee. The 31-year-old safety is coming off back-to-back seasons with 100+ tackles, but he's become a liability in coverage and was scheduled for an $8.3 million cap hit in 2016. If he's able to land a starting gig elsewhere, he could still be a productive IDP.

Griffin recorded 11 tackles (nine solo) in Sunday's 34-6 loss to the Texans.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran safety has always been excellent against the run, and his contributions helped limit the Texans to 3.0 yards per carry in what was otherwise an atrocious all-around effort by the Titans. Griffin should get plenty of opportunities to pad his tackle numbers against the Colts next week, as Indianapolis is expected lean on running back Frank Gore after he gashed the Titans for 86 yards and two touchdowns back in Week 3.

Griffin recorded nine tackles (seven solo) in Sunday's 42-39 win over Jacksonville.
EDGE Analysis
This was not a pretty game for either defense, but Griffin's sure tackling went a long way toward helping the Titans pick up a win. The 30-year-old safety has 73 tackles in 11 games played this season after recording a career-high 112 in 2014.

Griffin (knee) recorded a season-high nine tackles (six solo) in Sunday's 20-6 loss at Houston.
EDGE Analysis
The 30-year-old safety returned with a vengeance after missing last week's tilt against Atlanta. Griffin and the defense have gotten plenty of opportunities to pile up tackles in recent weeks, as Tennessee's inept offense has failed to sustain long drives.

Griffin (knee) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Texans.
EDGE Analysis
Griffin - who racked up 112 tackles and two picks last season - checks back into the Titans' lineup with 27 tackles and a pick through five games, numbers to give him a degree of IDP utility when he is healthy.

Griffin (knee) is listed as probable for Sunday's game on the team's official injury report.
EDGE Analysis
While Griffin hasn't officially been ruled available, Titans Online writer Jim Wyatt said the 30-year-old is expected to play against the Texans after missing last week's game with a knee injury. If that does wind up being the case, Daimion Stafford will likely slot back into his reserve role in the secondary.

Griffin (knee) was a full participant in practice Thursday, Jim Wyatt of Titans Online reports.
EDGE Analysis
Griffin missed last week's game due to a knee injury, but was able to return to practice Wednesday on a limited basis. Obviously Thursday's news is a great sign for his chances to suit up in Week 8, however the Titans have yet to officially rule Griffin available. That designation will likely come Friday following another full practice.

Griffin (knee) was limited in practice Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Griffin continues to recover from the knee injury that kept him on the sidelines for the Titans' Week 7 loss against the Falcons. His status should be monitored throughout the week, as he remains questionable for Sunday's matchup against the Texans.
