Williams gathered in all seven of his targets for 94 yards during Sunday's 34-33 win against the Vikings.
EDGE Analysis
Following the departure of Dan Arnold in the offseason, Williams was the incumbent tight end in Arizona with the most experience in the Cardinals offense. Williams has been as much through two games, earning 80 percent of the offensive snaps in the season opener before playing 74 percent of those plays Week 2. Meanwhile, reserve TE Darrell Daniels has logged 22 and 31 percent, respectively, with Demetrius Harris (33 and two) bringing up the rear. Williams was quiet Week 1, as he didn't have a catch on one target, so Sunday's breakout was an encouraging sign that he'll have the occasional productive outing.

Williams (illness) wasn't listed on the Cardinals' injury report Wednesday, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Williams was sidelined preseason Week 2 due to a non-COVID-19 illness, and the Cardinals' exhibition finale at New Orleans was cancelled due to Hurricane Ida, limiting the seventh-year pro to just one game in August. As the incumbent TE with the most experience on the Cardinals, he's kicking off the season as the team's No. 1 option at the position. But due to the strength of the wide receiver room and Williams' own limitations as a pass catcher, he doesn't hold much fantasy utility at this stage in his career.

Williams didn't play in Friday's preseason defeat to the Chiefs due to a non-COVID-19 illness, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Cardinals' No. 1 tight end, Williams logged seven offensive snaps in the team's exhibition opener last Friday en route to one catch (on one target) for four yards. Considering he's compiled 23 receptions and 28 targets in 25 career contests with the team, he's not a candidate to be a regular in Arizona's passing attack. But Darrell Daniels is the only other TE to have logged time with the Cards, leaving Williams at the top of the depth chart, when healthy.

Williams gathered in eight of 10 targets for 102 yards and one touchdown in nine games during the 2020 season.
EDGE Analysis
An ankle injury plagued Williams along the way, resulting in a stint on IR and seven games missed. Still, when on the field, he shared TE reps with Dan Arnold -- who broke out with a 31-438-4 line on 45 targets -- and Darrell Daniels (8-92-1 on 11 targets). Williams has one year left on his current contract, while Arnold is an unrestricted free agent, so it'll be interesting to see if the latter is retained and overall the breakdown of the tight-end room in 2021.

Williams (ankle) is active for Sunday's game against the Rams.
EDGE Analysis
The 26-year-old received the questionable tag after sitting out Week 16 with the ankle injury, but he's ready to go Sunday. Williams and Darrell Daniels (hamstring) should work behind starter Dan Arnold.

Williams (ankle) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Rams, Katherine Fitzgerald of The Arizona Republic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Williams closed out the practice week with back-to-back limited sessions, but he's still uncertain for the season finale. Darrell Daniels (hamstring) is also questionable for Sunday. Dan Arnold is expected to lead the position group regardless, and Seth DeValve will see more work against the Rams if Williams and Daniels are unavailable.

Williams (ankle) was listed as a limited participant for the Cardinals' practice session Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Williams' ankle issue kept him out during Arizona's Week 16 loss to the 49ers, providing the 26-year-old with his first absence since he emerged from the ankle injury that kept him on IR between Sept. 21 and Nov. 7. He appears to be trending in a positive direction for the Cardinals' regular-season finale at the Rams, but the fact that Dan Arnold (back) has a positive outlook for Week 17 reduces the likelihood of increased passing-game involvement for Williams.

Williams (ankle) didn't participate in Wednesday's practice, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Williams and Darrell Daniels (hamstring) both sat out of Wednesday's session, while Dan Arnold (back) was a limited participant. Seth DeValve was the only tight end without an injury tag to start the practice week. Williams missed last week's loss to the 49ers, so he'll need to get back on the practice field by Friday to have a shot at playing in Week 17.

Williams (ankle) is listed as inactive Saturday against the 49ers.
EDGE Analysis
Williams' absence isn't much of a surprise after he failed to practice in any capacity this week, the result of an ankle injury. In Williams' stead, Dan Arnold (back) is poised to be the Cardinals' primary tight end, with Darrell Daniels and Seth DeValve available as well.

Williams (ankle) is considered questionable for Saturday's matchup against the 49ers, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 26-year-old was unable to contribute even a limited practice session this week, but he still seemingly has a chance to suit up Saturday afternoon. Williams was forced to exit last Sunday's win over the Eagles after 23 offensive snaps, but not before he collected a season-high receiving total of 42 yards on his one catch.
